Adaptive optics is a technology, originally used in astronomy, to improve the optical performance of an optical system, by reducing wavefront aberrations. An adaptive optics system usually includes two elements, a wavefront sensor and a wavefront corrector that measure and correct wavefront aberrations respectively.
